Assalamualaikum and Good Day everyone.
Each year MSO will participate in an international program organized by MSU known as Global Festival. This year Global Festival will take place on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the MSU Student Union. There are two parts in this festival which are exhibition and performance. The exhibition is the best medium for us to showcase our country and its rich and diverse culture. According to CVIP, this festival is a community event drawing together a crowd ranging from 4,000 - 5,000 visitors from the Lansing/East Lansing community who are very interested in exploring various culture from around the world. Thus, Global Festival is definitely the best way for us to represent our Malaysia to the world. All of us should take this opportunity to do something for Malaysia and do our part as the little ambassador of our country.
We are very proud of a group of Malaysian Student who volunteer to perform a ten-minutes-long cultural performance on that day. Lead by Abg Ipin as the lead singer, the performance will showcase a classic song by M.Nasir, "Tanya Sama Itu Hud Hud" and cultural dance from a group of dedicated female students. Let us all together be with them on that day for moral support. We have yet received any information on when we'll be performing but it should be anytime from 12pm to 6pm.
The exhibition starts at 12 pm and ends at 6. As you have noticed, the exhibition is 6-hour-long, thus we need every Malaysian to be apart of this exciting event. What we usually do for Global Fest is helping the visitors to understand and know more about Malaysia through our exhibition, traditional games like congkak, traditional clothes (Baju Kurung, Cheong Sam, etc.) and free goodies from Tourism Malaysia.
As the date draws near, we will explain the details of the event through MSO MSU facebook group. Keep updated. Anyone who is interested in giving ideas on the exhibition or anything can contact me directly. We are very hopeful that everyone will show their excitement and support for this event for our one and only Malaysia. Malaysia Boleh.
