Following the success of the previous years, MSO once again managed to organize an event where the community of East Lansing can experience a taste of Malaysia.
Malaysian Dessert Night was held on March 23, 2013 at Akers Dining Hall giving the chance for guests to have samples of famous desserts that can be found in Malaysia. The foods were served in a 'warung' style, which was divided into categories such as fried items, porridge and 'kuih'. The famous 'teh tarik' or milk tea was also served, and it was poured gracefully by our own talented artist Abang Ipin. While eating, guests were entertained by the cultural performances from our MSO members, such as dikir barat, silat and wayang kulit. Guests also had the chance to join in on the 'tarian buluh' as demonstrated by our members. As the event came to it's end, guests were given a souvenir representing Malaysia.
Thanks to all MSO members for their effort and not to mention to our generous sponsors on making this event a reality. Also, we would like to express our deepest appreciation to all that's involved in the Malaysian Dessert Night.
Here is the highlights of the event, produced by Amin Asyraf;
